I am so thankful for Alisa’s patient help and knowledge! I wear kimono as part of learning Japanese tea ceremony, and I needed more practice and information specifically about kimono. Alisa was very attentive to my needs and focused our lessons on the formal kimono specifics that I need for tea ceremony. I still have a lot of practice ahead of me for kimono AND tea ceremony, but I feel much more confident after the lessons that Alisa so carefully walked me through. She’s an excellent teacher!

FAQ

Q. What is the difference between yukata lessons and kimono lessons?
A. Yukata is the most casual style of kimono and beginners can learn to wear it quickly. For this reason, we offer 90-minute lessons. Kimonos require more accessories and procedures than yukatas, so at least 2 months of lessons are required.

Q. If I don't have a yukata/kimono, can I still take lessons?
A. You will need to purchase a yukata or kimono before the lesson. If necessary, please feel free to contact us for advice on how to purchase a kimono.
